“Is this thing still on?” — gathering magazine feedback the ol’ fashioned way

At the City of Auburn, we like conundrums. That’s just how city government is sometimes. Roads paved just yesterday will start to crack. A YouTube stream of a City Council meeting will broadcast without any audio, despite using the same settings as last week. And in the year 2023 — with technologies and AIs taking over art, writing and more — we’ll publish…a magazine? We’ll publish a magazine. Written, designed and edited by actual humans.

It’s unsurprisingly called Auburn Magazine, and if you have a mailbox and live in Auburn, chances are you’ve seen it. It looks like a magazine, feels like a magazine, but does it read like one?

That’s what we want to know. Within the first few pages, you’ll notice a link to a survey (don’t worry — we’re technologically savvy enough to include it here too). It takes under a minute to fill out. But if you really want, you can write feedback for hours to your heart’s content.

We want to know what you think. What you really, really think. Are the stories compelling? Is the content meeting you where you are? Is there something you’d like to see more of? Is there something you’d absolutely like to never see again?

Let us know. We promise to read each and every word (if you write for hours, though, at least add some twists and turns to make it compelling).
